About the trail

At 2,700 miles, the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is one of the world's longest continuous footpaths and is part of the Triple Crown of North American long-distance hiking, along with the Appalachian Trail (2167 miles) and the Continental Divide Trail (approx. 3100 miles).

Wending its way through California, Oregon and Washington from the Mexican border to the Canadian border, the PCT passes through high and low desert, high mountains and forests. It follows the edge of the Mojave desert, then passes through the Sierra Nevada before following the Cascade ranges north to the Canadian border.
